* What is DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread from which stockings and tights are made.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or tight is. Conversely: The higher the DENIER number (40, 70, etc.), the less transparent the stocking or tight is. It is thicker and less skin is visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is hardly visible. They are frequently worn in autumn and winter.
