* What is DENIER?
A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread from which stockings and tights are made.
The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the fabric and the less visible the skin is.
On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and pantyhose, in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. These are commonly used in autumn and winter.
Tights and stockings with a low DEN number are usually used for the spring-summer season. The others can be used all year round, for example for ceremonies, as the thin nature of the stockings makes them appear more elegant.
High numbers, 40, 70..., are usually used for autumn-winter.
