* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the thread from which stockings and tights are made.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or tight is. Conversely, the higher the DENIER number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the stocking or tight is and less skin is visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber stockings and tights in 50 and 100 denier, where the skin is barely visible. They are frequently worn in autumn and winter.

Stockings and tights with a low denier count are typically worn in spring and summer. The remaining stockings can be worn all year round, for example at celebrations, as they look more elegant due to their low density.
